Description
The linhay, stable, and barn located immediately to the west of Yarde Farmhouse date from the 18th century to the mid-19th century. The linhay features cob walls with some rubble infilling at the front, while the stable has rubble walls up to lintel height with cob above. The barn is constructed with stone rubble walls. The roofs of the linhay and stable are made of corrugated iron, and the barn has a slate roof.
The linhay consists of eight bays and is divided on the ground floor by slate monoliths with timber uprights above. It includes pigeon holes in its right end wall. The single-storey stable has a doorway positioned left of centre, flanked by slatted windows on either side. The two-storey barn range features four shippon doorways below, with windows between them and a tall loading doorway on the first floor, all topped with brick arches. There is a large lean-to against the left-hand end of the barn.
Inside, the roof timbers of the linhay were replaced in the late 19th or early 20th century, while the stable retains some of its original curved stall partitions.
