ST STEPHENS BY SX 28 NE LAUNCESTON 8/134 Little Athill - II

Farmhouse and adjoining barn. Probably early C19. Painted stone rubble and cob. Rag slate roof with half hipped ends. Central rendered and painted stone rubble and brick shaft to axial stack. Plan: Interesting and unusual plan comprising farmhouse with integral farmbuilding, the two of roughly equal size forming an overall rectangular plan. The house on right has a probably 2-room plan with entrance to right and principal room to front left heated by axial stack. Small C19 service extension on right hand end in lean-to outshut. The barn on left has probably shippons on the ground floor and loft above. Exterior: 2 storeys. Barn on left and house on right with an asymmetrical front elevation to the road. Barn has 2 plank doors on the ground floor and almost central plank door to loft above. House has an entrance to right with C19 2-light casement in centre and blind window beyond. First floor with blind window on left and C19 2- light casement on right. Small C20 window in lean-to outshut to right. Interior: Not inspected.
