Description

Hillpark is a farmhouse with an attached barn, built in the mid to late 18th century, with the barn dating from the early 19th century. The farmhouse features roughly coursed slate-stone and is roughcast and painted, while the barn has red brick dressings. The left side of the two-storey lean-to at the rear of the house is covered in slate hanging, and the barn has a slate roof that is hipped at the right end. The house is composed of two bays and has the barn attached to the right under the same roof pitch. It stands two storeys tall, with two 20th-century casement windows under slate drips on the first floor and a similar window on the ground floor to the left. There is a 19th-century boarded door located below a gabled slate-hung porch on the right side. An integral end stack is situated on the left. The barn features a wide central door that aligns with the first-floor windows of the house, though it is accessed at ground level due to a raised farmyard. Inside, the large ground-floor room of the house has a chamfered cross beam and joists, while the barn has a continuous loft and a collar truss roof supported by five bays, including a hip.
