Description
Throstles Nest Farmhouse and Barn is a farmhouse with an attached barn, built in the late 18th to early 19th century. It is constructed from coursed, dressed millstone grit and has a stone slate roof. The building features a laithe house plan and stands two storeys tall.
The farmhouse has one window on the first floor and is accented with quoins. To the right, there is a pent porch that includes a single-light window and a door set in a flush stone surround on the right return. Each floor has a six-light, flat-faced mullioned window also in a flush stone surround. A stack is located at the left end of the house.
The barn, which is set back to the right of the farmhouse, has a quoined, segmental-headed cart door with voussoirs on the right side. To the left, there is a door in a flush stone surround with interrupted jambs. The barn also features slit vents.
