Description

This is a barn, likely originally a shippon with a threshing floor above, located approximately 150 meters to the northwest of Newton Ferrers House. It dates from the late 18th century and is constructed of stone rubble with granite quoins, topped by an asbestos slate roof with hipped ends. The barn is two storeys high.

On the east elevation, there is a dressed segmental stone arch on the left that is partly blocked, with large 20th-century double sliding doors in the center. The west elevation features two wide rusticated stone segmental arches, also partly blocked, flanking a central rusticated stone arch. Above these arches, there are two openings with timber lintels and two newer openings with concrete lintels that are partly blocked. Additionally, there are two late shallow wings that project forward on the west side. The barn is included in the listing for its group value.
