Description
Heathfield is a farmhouse, now empty, dating from the late 17th century, with possible extensions added to the north in the 18th century. The building is constructed of stone rubble and features a steeply pitched scantle slate roof, which has been patched with metal sheet and asbestos slate on the east slope, and asbestos slate on the west slope and the steeply pitched roof of the rear west wing. The farmhouse has gable ends and includes a projecting stone rubble stack on the south gable end, along with a reduced projecting lateral stack on the north side of the west wing. There is also a 20th-century brick stack on the southwest corner of the rear wing. The building has a 'T' shaped plan and stands two storeys tall. The east front is asymmetrical with two windows. The ground floor has a blocked opening on the left and a lean-to rendered porch with a corrugated iron roof in the centre, along with a straight joint to the right. The first floor features blocked openings in the centre and to the right. The gable end of the rear wing has been partly remodelled with brick dressings around the openings. The roof slope continues down to the south, forming an outshut that was likely used for a dairy. The interior has not been inspected.
