Description

Antron Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates back to the 17th century but was remodeled in the 18th century. It is constructed from granite rubble with granite dressings. The front features an asbestos slate roof, while the rear has a grouted scantle slate roof. The building has large granite rubble stacks that rise over granite coped gable ends, which include moulded kneelers. The layout consists of a two-room plan with a cross passage between the rooms that leads to a stair outshut at the rear of the passage. There is a 19th-century lean-to behind the right-hand room and a 20th-century addition behind the left-hand room. The exterior is two storeys high and has a nearly symmetrical three-window south front, with a doorway and a window above it, located to the right of the middle window. The granite lintel over the left-hand window is incised to resemble voussoirs. The door and windows are from the 20th century but are set in 18th-century openings. The interior has not been inspected.
