Description

Kernick Lodge is an early 19th century lodge, likely built as a gatehouse to Kernick House. It is constructed of painted rubble walls with a polygonal asbestos roof featuring projecting eaves, and a central rendered stack. The building has a small plan, probably comprising two rooms and a small lean-to at the rear. The design is in the Gothick style, with a symmetrical two-window canted front. It is a single-storey structure. The front features four-centred arched openings, containing 20th century two-light casements. Above these, the windows have Y-tracery, which may be original. A central doorway has a 20th century planked door. The interior has not been inspected.
