Description
This is a Free Methodist chapel built in 1862. It is located in the West End of Marazion. The front is constructed of granite brought to course, while the rest of the building is rubble with granite dressings. The roof is covered in asbestos slate with gabled ends. The chapel has a rectangular, aisle-less plan and features a gallery on three sides.
The symmetrical south-west front has a granite plinth and rusticated quoins. Granite rustications frame the round-headed openings. A string course just below the gable suggests a pediment, and a rectangular date plaque is located in the middle of the gable. A central doorway is flanked by two tall windows at a higher level, with two further round-headed window openings on each side wall. The original ledged double doors have a plain fanlight. The windows retain their original hornless sashes.
Inside, the original gallery has a panelled front that cantilevers out on shaped brackets.
