Description
The former Methodist Chapel, dating from the early 19th century, features a granite ashlar front and is constructed mainly of rubble with granite dressings. It has a grouted scantle slate roof and a pedimented front gable end, with cast-iron ogee gutters. The building has a rectangular aisle-less plan and a gallery on three sides, with an earth closet located at the rear left-hand corner.
The exterior consists of two storey elevations, with a pedimented entrance front that has two windows and a central doorway. The building is accented with rusticated quoins and an oval plaque at the center of the pediment. The wide doorway retains its original pair of doors and fanlight, while the front features round-headed windows and the side walls have segmentally headed windows. There is also a doorway on the left-hand wall beneath the left-hand window.
Inside, the chapel has an original gallery supported by Tuscan columns and an entrance hall with original stairs on either side.
