Description

This guide post, dating from the early 20th century, is made of cast iron. It features a round shaft topped with three adjustable pointers, which are capped by a moulded and pyramidal cap. The pointers have mitred corners and include embossed inscriptions. The left-hand (east) pointer indicates HELSTON 4 and FALMOUTH 9, the middle pointer shows PORKELLIS 1½, and the right-hand pointer reads WENDRON ¾. Additionally, the shaft is inscribed with the word CORNWALL.
