Description
Pixie Shop is a building located in Forrabury and the Harbour, Boscastle. It was originally stables, later converted into pighouses, and then transformed into a shop around the early 19th century, with the shop conversion completed in 1957. The structure is made of painted and rendered slate-stone rubble, topped with a rag slate roof featuring gable ends.
The building has a rectangular plan. Originally, there was an entrance in the left gable end and a loft entrance in the right gable end, as the ground rises to the right. However, when it was converted into a shop, a new entrance was added in the center of the front elevation. The front is symmetrical, featuring two granite window openings with 2-centred arches flanking the central door. All openings on the front are later alterations, and there are plank doors in both the left and right gable ends. This picturesque building is situated on the north side of Boscastle harbour.
