Description

The Limekiln, located in Forrabury and the Harbour, Boscastle, dates from the late 18th century. It is constructed from slatestone rubble and calcareous spar and has a square plan. The structure is built into the side of a steeply sloping bank and features a round arched opening on the south side. There is also a round arched opening in the right-hand side wall, while the left-hand opening is obscured by a block of lavatories added in the 1970s. Originally, the limekiln had access from raised ground at the rear, allowing for top loading.
