Description
Claremont is a house dating from the early 19th century, located on the west side of Forrabury and Dunn Street in Boscastle. The building is constructed from slate stone rubble with dressed quoins and features a scantle slate roof with hipped ends, deep overhanging eaves, and brick end stacks. It has a double depth plan, comprising two main front rooms, a central entrance and staircase, and service rooms at the rear.
The house is two storeys high and has a symmetrical front with three windows. The complete 19th-century fenestration includes brick segmented arches above the openings. On the ground floor, there are two 12-pane hornless sash windows flanking a central early 20th-century partly glazed door. The first floor features three 12-pane hornless sash windows. The elevations of the building remain unaltered. The interior has not been inspected.
