Description

May Cottage is a house dating to around the 18th century, located on the east side of Fore Street in Boscastle. It is constructed of rendered stone rubble, with a rag slate roof, gable ends, and a rendered brick stack on the left-hand gable. The house likely originally had two rooms, each heated by end stacks. The front facade is symmetrical and features two windows. A circa 19th century rendered stone rubble porch with a gable has a 19th century four-panel door. There are 12-pane horned sash windows to the right and left of the porch. The first floor has two late 19th or early 20th century two-light casements with glazing bars. The interior is not accessible. May Cottage is part of a group of buildings on the east side of Fore Street.
