Description
The Glen is a house dating from the late 16th century or early 17th century, which was remodeled in the mid to late 20th century. It is constructed of rendered and painted stone rubble and cob, topped with a rag slate roof featuring gable ends. There is a stone rubble stack on the left-hand gable end, which has a moulded granite cap from the late 16th or early 17th century. The house has a one-room plan with a blocked entrance on the front right. A turretted stair located in the rear wall on the right was removed during the 20th-century alterations. It is possible that the building was once part of a much larger house that extended to the right. The Glen is two storeys high, with a regular two-window front that features early 20th-century two-light casements on both the ground and first floors. There is a late 20th-century range added to the rear, which is rendered and has a slate roof with gable ends. The interior was also remodeled in the late 20th century, and the roof timbers have not been inspected.
