Meadowside And House Adjoining On East

Meadowside and the house adjoining on the east are two houses that likely have origins in the 18th century and were extended in the 19th century. They are built of stone rubble, rendered and painted, with slate hung using rag slates on the front. The roof is also made of rag slate and features gable ends. There are brick shafts for the axial stack, an end stack on the right, and a rear lateral stack.

The original layout is uncertain, but it appears to consist of a pair of single-depth houses with two rooms and a cross passage. The house on the right is heated by an end stack on the right and an axial stack on the left. It is possible that Meadowside on the left was originally a one-room plan, with the left room, heated by a rear lateral stack, being an extension.

The exterior is two storeys high with an asymmetrical four-window front. The slate hanging is above the base, except for the left-hand end. There is a 20th-century porch on the right-hand house, flanked by two late 19th or 20th-century two-light casement windows. Above, there are two similar casements. Meadowside features a slate hood above the entrance, flanked by two two-light casements without glazing bars, and two similar windows above. There is also a two-storey outshut from the 19th or 20th century on the right-hand end. The interior has not been inspected.
