Description
This is a coach house, now used as a farm building, located approximately 50 metres south of Pendarves Home Farm. It was likely built in the mid to late 18th century and has been altered over time. The structure is made of granite ashlar and features a slate roof, although part of the roof is missing.
The building is long and rectangular, oriented on an east-west axis, and faces south towards the site of the former Pendarves House. It has two storeys and is arranged in a symmetrical layout with six bays, two bays in the centre that project forward and were formerly topped with a pediment. The centre features coupled basket-arched wagon entrances with run-out imposts, and above these are two 6-pane sashed windows on the first floor, which are glazed with lay bars only.
The long flanking ranges each have coupled basket-arched wagon doorways in the centre, with lunettes above them. There is a doorway in each outer bay, and the windows have plain surrounds; the windows on the left side are mostly sashed, while those on the right side are mostly blind, including all those on the first floor. A blocking course runs above a plain band. The left range has a pitched roof, while no roof is visible over the remainder of the building.
