Anvoaze Farmhouse

Anvoaze Farmhouse is a mid-19th century farmhouse located in the parish of Grade-Ruan. It features stone rubble walls with granite lintels above the openings and has a hipped slate roof with two brick stacks. The building is two storeys high and has an asymmetrical four-window front. On the ground floor, there are three 12-pane sash windows and a late 19th century rubble stone porch with a slate hipped roof situated to the right of the center, which includes a partly glazed 19th century door. Above the ground floor, there are four additional 12-pane sash windows. The roof is adorned with two ornate stepped brick stacks positioned near the center.

Inside, the room on the left contains a fireplace that features an early 17th century carved oak chimney-piece, which includes a very elaborate carved oak overmantle. This overmantle is divided into three panels and showcases two perspectives of rusticated round arched openings with inlaid panelled doors, a central moulded panel flanked by debased Ionic pilasters, and a modillion cornice. Below the shelf, there is a pulvinated frieze of scrapwork supported by rusticated pilasters on either side of the fireplace. It is noted that this overmantle was brought from another house in the late 19th century and is included in the listing for its significance.
