Description
East Trevallack Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 17th century. It is constructed of rubblestone and features a rag slate roof with a hipped end on the left and a gable end on the right. There is a rendered rubblestone stack with a rendered rubblestone and brick shaft on the left hipped end, and a reduced rendered rubblestone stack to the right of the center. The layout consists of three rooms with a blocked through passage. The staircase projection at the rear has been removed, and there is a 20th-century outshut extension to the rear.
The building is two storeys high and has a regular four-window front. On the ground floor, there is a late 19th-century three-light casement window to the left, a 20th-century plank door with a rendered lean-to porch that has a slate roof, and to the right, a late 19th-century three-light casement set in a granite chamfered surround, with the tops of three mullions remaining and a slate hood above. Further to the right, there is a late 19th or 20th-century two-light casement. On the upper floor, there are late 19th-century two and three-light casements.
Inside, there is a 20th-century staircase in the wide cross passage. The lower room has renewed ceiling beams, while the hall features heavy chamfered ceiling beams. Throughout the farmhouse, there are 18th-century two-panelled doors with strap and HL hinges. The roof structure consists of eight bays, with heavy principals that have feet cranked at a reflex angle, dying into the side of the wall, and cambered and chamfered collars that are halved, lapped, and pegged.
