Description
Cornelly is a house dating from the late 17th century, which was remodeled in the mid-19th century. It features painted rubblestone on the ground floor and slate hanging on the first floor front and left-hand side wall. The roof is covered with asbestos slate and has hipped ends. There are rubblestone stacks with brick shafts at the hipped ends. The house has a two-room plan with a through passage, where the larger hall room is on the left and the kitchen is on the right. It has been extended to the rear to include later service rooms and a stair, creating a double-depth plan. The building is two storeys high with a symmetrical two-window front. The ground floor has two early 20th-century three-light casement windows. There is a door to the right of the center, featuring a chamfered segmental granite arch and chamfered jambs with pyramid stops, along with a late 18th-century plank door that has moulded vertical ribs. Above, there are two early 20th-century two-light casements. The interior has not been inspected.
