Description
19, 19A, and 21 Church Street is a town house that has been adapted for two later shops. Originally built in the 18th century, it was remodeled in the mid-19th century. The building features slate hanging on what is likely studwork and has a dry slate roof. It occupies a deep corner site and stands three storeys tall. The facade facing Church Street has a three-window range, with an additional one-window splay at the right corner that returns into Market Street. The windows are 20th-century twelve-pane horned sashes. The ground floor includes two late 19th-century shop fronts beneath a moulded entablature with a fascia. These double fronts have quoin pilasters and slender fluted mullions, all topped with carved near Corinthian caps. The left shop, No. 19, has a splayed central doorway, while No. 21, the corner shop, features a doorway at the splayed corner. The interior has not been inspected.
