Description

This building, located approximately 10 meters southeast of Tranno Farmhouse, is likely a former stable dating from the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed from killas rubble with granite quoins, jambstones, and lintels, and features a scantle slate roof with gable ends at two levels. The layout consists of a single-storey section on the left, divided into three cells that may have been used for stables or possibly pigs. The right-hand two-storey section was probably originally a single rectangular room with fodder storage above, but the ground floor has been subdivided over time.

On the north front, the single-storey section has three original doorways on the left, while the two-storey part on the right includes an original ground floor doorway towards the right and a first-floor window towards the left. There are also two later ground floor doorways, one to the left of the middle and another on the far left, both with shallow brick arches. The building retains old ledged doors and a shuttered window. Although the interior has not been inspected, it is part of a planned group associated with the farmhouse of a similar date and has remained largely unaltered since the 19th century. The setting is characterized by unspoiled open coastal farmland.
