Description
The building is a farm structure located 15 metres south of Trevego Farmhouse, dating from around the mid-18th century. It was originally used as a shippon and stables, featuring a threshing floor and a hayloft above. The construction consists of coursed stone and rubblestone, with some rubblestone and concrete block repairs on the right-hand gable end. The roof is made of scantle slate and has gable ends.
The building is two storeys high with an asymmetrical north front. On the ground floor, there are two window openings with shutters on the left side, flanking a double plank door, all of which are set under timber lintels. Near the centre, there is another double plank door beneath a later brick segmental arch, and to the right, there is a stable door. Above the plank door to the left of centre and the double plank door to the right, there are external steps made of rubblestone and granite. The first floor features two rows of square dove holes that extend across the entire front elevation.
At the rear, there are small slit openings and some partly blocked openings, along with a projecting rear wing that has a lean-to roof. The roof comprises 10 bays, with cambered, slightly chamfered collars on the 4th and 9th principals, while other collars have largely been replaced. This building is included for its group value with Trevego Farmhouse.
