SW62NW BREAGE ROAD 631-1/1/9 Piggery and attached wall at 25/07/79 Methleigh Farm (Formerly Listed as: BRREAGE ROAD Farmyard buildings including watermill at Methleigh)

Piggery (range of 6 sties). Mid C19. Granite rubble with granite dressings, grouted scantle slate roof. Shallow-depth rectangular range with each sty divided by a rubble wall. Single storey. Yard front has 6 doorways with C20 planked doors with original hinges and other furniture. Rear has 6 feeding hatches and 4 slit ventilators. INTERIOR: cobbled floors, granite troughs and original roof structure with nailed collars. Subsidiary features: rubble wall at right-angles in front on right, splayed and with gate pier with moulded head at the front end (similar pier to wall attached to implement shed (qv)). The wall has 2 openings and there are 2 troughs originally filled by water from mill leat. The water supply system at Methleigh, serving mill, farm buildings, house and gardens, is a considerable feat of planning and engineering and is probably the most complex of its kind in Cornwall.
