Implement Shed And Attached Walls 10 Metres South West Of Methleigh Farmhouse

The implement shed and attached walls, located 10 metres south-west of Methleigh Farmhouse, date from the mid-19th century. The structure features walls made of Killas and granite rubble, topped with a scantle slate hipped roof. It has a rectangular plan and is a single storey with a symmetrical two-window front facing the yard. The shed includes two-light shuttered windows and a very wide central doorway, with additional doorways at each end and at the rear towards the right. Inside, the original roof structure is visible, featuring nailed collar trusses. The outer sides of the building extend as yard walls, with the left wall terminating at a gate that has a granite monolithic pier with a moulded head, similar to the wall linked to the piggery. This building is part of a planned group at Methleigh, arranged around a cobbled yard that originally included a central dung pit, now infilled.
