Description
Marina Villa Hotel is a house that was converted into a hotel, dating from the early 19th century. The front is finished in stucco, with slate hanging on the right-hand side, and it has a dry Delabole slate roof featuring three barrel-roofed dormers at the front. The building has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys plus an attic, with a symmetrical three-window front. The windows are four-pane hornless sashes, except for a later central casement window above a reeded pilastered doorway that has an open pediment, fanlight, and panelled reveals, with a 20th-century glazed door. The rear of the building, which faces the harbour, includes a decorative cast-iron balcony and verandah. Inside, where inspected, the hotel retains many of its original fine quality details, such as an open-well staircase, moulded and carved ceiling cornices, and panelled doors. There is also a high rubble wall at the rear garden.
