Description
The Siena and Pottery Crafts Gallery is a house and shop built around the mid-19th century. It features stone rubble construction with granite quoins and dressings, topped by a slurried scantle slate roof with clay ridge tiles. The building has brick chimneys at both gable ends, with the right one rendered.
It stands two storeys tall and has an almost asymmetrical three-window front. The ground floor includes a 19th-century shop front on the left, which consists of two 16-pane windows flanking a partly glazed later double door set within a rectangular fanlight. Above this is a timber fascia with a cornice supported by four timber brackets. To the right, there is a partly glazed entrance door accompanied by a 12-pane sash window without ears.
On the first floor, there is one 4-pane sash window on the left and two 16-pane sash windows without ears in the centre and on the right. At the rear, there is a timber workshop and a late-19th-century single-storey extension with rubble walls and a slate roof to the right. The building was originally used as a shop and post office and is included for its group value.
