Description
Count House Farmhouse is an account house, now functioning as a farmhouse, dating from the early 19th century. It features painted rubble walls with wooden lintels and a concrete tile roof that is half-hipped on the left side and gable-ended on the right. A tall brick chimney is positioned over the cross wall towards the left and another over the gable end on the right.
The building has a double depth plan, consisting of a one-room-wide section on the left with an entrance hall on the right, and a two-room-wide section on the right with an entrance hall between the rooms. The right-hand end appears to be an old extension, and there is a lean-to at the left-hand end.
The farmhouse is two storeys high and presents an irregular overall four-window front on the north side. The left-hand end is nearly symmetrical with a two-window front, featuring a central doorway with an original six-panel door and original 16-pane hornless sash windows. The irregular right-hand end includes a 20th-century porch towards the left, a blocked doorway to the right of the porch, an old nine-pane fixed light on the first floor to the left, a late 19th-century 12-pane horned sash window on the first floor to the right, and a four-pane horned sash window below. The interior has not been inspected, but the left-hand end is reported to be little altered since the 19th century.
