Description

Lumburn Farmhouse is a farmhouse, now a house, dating from around 1830 with some 20th-century alterations. The building is constructed of rubble with a slate-hung front, rendered on the left end and painted on the right end. It features a slate roof with two ridge stacks. The layout is double depth, with a central passage and a straight stair to the rear left in the passage, two principal front rooms, and service rooms at the rear.

The farmhouse is two storeys high and has three windows, all of which are 20th-century replaced 12-pane sashes. There is a central gabled and glazed porch, possibly from the later 19th century, which includes a half-glazed outer door and a glazed inner door. The left gable end has a 10-pane light with iron stanchions at the ground floor left, and a 20th-century light in the same sized opening to the right. The right gable end features two 2-light casements at the ground floor, with the right side formerly being a door, both having splayed stone heads.

At the rear, there is a large single-storey open lean-to with a door to the left and a 2-light 10-pane casement to the right, both with cambered heads, along with a 20th-century 2-light casement to the left. The first floor has three 2-light casements and a small plate glass sash. The interior has not been inspected.
