Description

LUDGVAN SW 53 SW 8/15 Milestone at SW 521338 - GV II Milestone. Circa mid C19. Painted dressed granite monolith. Triangular-on-plan shaft over a rectangular-on-plan base. 2 rectangular sides of the shaft face the road obliquely and rise from large pyramidal stops. Each of these sides has incised lettering and Arabic numerals. Pyramidal head. Left-hand side inscription : PENZANCE 4 MILES LANDS END 14 Right-hand side inscription : HAYLE 4 MILES CAMBORNE 10 REDRUTH 13 TRURO 22 Ordnance Survey bench mark over.
