Description

Milestone located at SW 543361, dating from around the mid-19th century. It is made of painted dressed granite and has a triangular shape on the shaft with a rectangular base. The two rectangular sides of the shaft face the road at an angle and rise from large pyramidal stops. Each side features incised lettering and Arabic numerals. The top of the milestone is pyramidal. The left side is inscribed with "PENZANCE 6 MILES" and "LAND'S END 16," while the right side reads "HAYLE 2 MILES," "CAMBORNE 6," "REDRUTH 11," and "TRURO 20."
