Description

Rosevidney Manor is a 17th-century farmhouse, extended around the early or mid-19th century, located in Ludgvan. The house is constructed of granite rubble with granite dressings, although the 19th-century facade is stuccoed. The roofs are covered with scantle slate, with dressed granite chimney stacks to the gable ends of the 17th-century portion, and a hipped roof with projecting eaves and a brick chimney over one side wall on the 19th-century wing.

Originally, the 17th-century farmhouse was likely arranged with two rooms at the front and a parlour or kitchen wing set at a right angle. A later 19th-century two-room addition partially obscures the original front. A hipped lean-to addition, dating to the 17th century, projects from the rear wing, featuring four blocked window openings. A single-storey range, largely dating to the late 19th century, adjoins the front corner, open on the left-hand side and supported by iron stanchions.

The symmetrical 19th-century entrance front has three windows. It features rusticated quoins, moulded architraves, a 20th-century door, and windows. The original 17th-century front section on the left has two two-light windows on each floor, with removed mullions and early 19th-century hornless 16-pane sashes. The rear of the house exhibits one 17th-century chamfered window opening on the first floor and a single light window on the right-hand gable. The right-hand wall has a chamfered doorway, blocked windows to the right of the doorway, and partly blocked two-light windows on each floor. A mullion has been removed from the ground floor on the left-hand side. The interior has not been inspected.
