Description

No. 44 Church Street is a building likely originally used as a public house, now divided into two houses. It dates from the early 19th century and is constructed of granite and Elvan ashlar, featuring a plinth. The ground floor has shallow segmental arches, while the first floor has flat arches. The roof is covered with asbestos slate and has brick end stacks. The building has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys tall with a symmetrical three-window front. It retains original 16-pane hornless sash windows and has a wide central carriage doorway. The interior has not been inspected.
