Description
The chimney stack, located approximately 30 metres east of the pump engine house at Taylor's Shaft of New East Pool Mine, is a Grade II* listed structure built in 1922 for East Pool and Agar Ltd mine. It is constructed from coursed squared granite and red brick, featuring white brick lettering. The stack has a tapered cylindrical shape and is very tall, lacking a cornice at the stone stage. The upper stage is made of brick and displays vertically arranged lettering in white brick that reads "EPAL," which stands for East Pool Agar Limited. This chimney stack is part of a group with the engine house.
