Description

CARN BREA TREVITHICK ROAD SW 64 SE (east side, off) 5/178 Chimney stack approx. 30 metres 9.4.75 east of pump engine house at Taylor's shaft of New East Pool Mine (formerly listed by inclusion) GV II* Chimney stack to pump engine house, now redundant. 1922, for East Pool and Agar Ltd mine. Coursed squared granite and red brick with white brick lettering. Tapered cylindrical form, very tall, with no cornice to the stone stage, brick upper stage with vertically arranged lettering in white brick "EPAL" (=East Pool Agar Limited). Forms group with engine house (q.v.).
