Description
This is a chimney stack located approximately 150 metres west of the pump engine house on the site of Wheal Uny Mine. It is likely from the late 19th century and is constructed of uncoursed granite and rubble. The stack is a slightly tapered cylinder with small rectangular openings at ground level on the east and west sides. It features a brick cornice, although the upper stage made of brick is now missing. The chimney stack is part of a prominent and attractively situated group of structures that can be seen from the remains of Basset Mines at Carnkie and Carn Brea.
