Description
The stable block at Treloweth Farm, now used as a store, dates from the early 19th century and has been altered. It is constructed from large uncoursed blocks of killas rubble, featuring granite quoins and dressings, and has a slate roof. The building has a rectangular plan oriented east-west, is two storeys high, and consists of four bays. There is a doorway in the second bay and a segmental-arched wagon doorway in the fourth bay. A large flight of parallel steps leads to a loft doorway in the first bay, while there are two square-headed windows in the second and third bays. On the first floor, there is a window and loft door in the first bay, a loading door in the third bay, and square windows in the second and fourth bays. The roof is hipped. There is a single-storey building attached at right angles to the right-hand end, but it is not of special interest. The stable block forms a group with the barn on the west side of the yard, representing the remains of a once substantial farm now surrounded by modern housing.
