Description

The stable block, located approximately 30 metres south-west of Trevethan House, dates from the early 19th century. It is constructed from coursed squared granite and features a slurried slate roof. The building has a long rectangular shape and stands two storeys tall.

On the first floor, there are five openings. The second bay includes a square-headed wagon doorway with a long rectangular lintel, along with a loading door above it. The fourth and fifth bays have doorways, with the latter being narrower and featuring a 4-pane overlight. Each floor has four 12-pane sashed windows. The roof is hipped, and there is a chimney at the right-hand end of the ridge. A doorway is present in the right-hand return wall, and the rear of the building has a flight of steps leading from higher ground to the loft. Inside, there is a former forge located at the right-hand end. This stable block forms a group with Trevethan House.
