Description
The Pool Basset Institute is a club building, likely constructed in the mid to late 19th century. It is made of killas rubble with granite dressings and features a slate roof and brick chimneys. This small, rectangular, single-storey structure has a four-bay facade that includes a plinth, a plain band, a parapet with flat coping, and rock-faced quoins. In the third bay, there is a round-headed doorway with an altered door and fanlight. The facade also features three relatively large round-headed, four-pane sashed windows, all of which have rock-faced long-and-short surrounds and triple keystones. Above the central band, there is a plaque inscribed with "POOL BASSET INSTITUTE". The building has one-pot chimneys at the gables. The interior has not been inspected.
