Description

The barn and adjoining outbuildings located immediately south of Tregonebris Old Manor House date from the early to mid-19th century. Constructed of granite rubble with granite dressings, the buildings feature scantle slate roofs. The barn has a half-hipped roof, while the adjoining structures have hipped roofs, except for the small front and rear wings, which have corrugated iron roofs. A back chimney is positioned over the front end of the right wing.

The overall layout is L-shaped, with a small wing at right angles in front of the middle of the barn and another behind the left side. A single-storey range, built in two phases, projects in front of the barn on the right; the section next to the barn is likely a washhouse. The barn originally contained two threshing floors with opposing loading and winnowing doorways, along with rear doorways that are nearly level with the bank at the back.

The exterior features a two-storey barn with single-storey extensions and a four-window south front. A central gabled-ended wagon house wing is located in front of what is likely the original wagon doorway. Most original openings remain, although the first-floor loading doorways have been partly blocked and fitted with windows. There are old ledged doors and some possibly original two-light windows; the ground floor left-hand window has bars, while the first-floor window on the right has shutters. The rear includes two shuttered windows. On the left side, there is a single-storey wing with a doorway on its right, and on the right side, a wing projects in front, featuring two doorways in its left-hand wall and two original 12-pane two-light casements in its right-hand wall, overlooking the front garden of Tregonebris Cottage. The interior has not been inspected.
