Description
The stone memorial, located immediately west of the Holy Well of St Credan in Sancreed, was erected in 1910 and designed by John Stona. It features a dressed granite monolithic wheel-head set on a stepped granite base. The lower base is round in plan and inscribed, supporting an octagonal plinth topped with a tall square-on-plan cross shaft that has chamfered corners. One side of the wheel-head displays a cross in relief, while the opposite side features a Greek cross. An inscription on the side of the base reads: "TO THE GLORY OF GOD 1910 JOHN STONE." Additionally, there is an inscription on the top of the base in inset lead letters that states: "OF YOUR CHARITY PRAY FOR THE SICK, THE SORROWFUL, THE TEMPTED, THE SINNING & THOSE WHO REST IN CHRIST."
