Description
The gate-piers, stile, steps, gate, and railings located south of the east end of the Church of St Credan date from the late 18th century or early 19th century. The gateway features granite ashlar side walls with chamfered granite copings and dressed granite steps. It includes wrought-iron gates, railings, and an overthrow. The grid stile is flanked by low side walls and is accessed by a flight of five steps leading to a landing in front of the gateway. The wrought-iron gate and the flanking railings, which are early 19th century, have finialled bars and arched bracing, with ramped top rails. The round-arched overthrow includes a central lamp holder.
