Description
The gate piers, gates, steps, and railings located approximately 50 meters south of the Church of Saint Sithney are likely from the late 18th century, with early to mid-19th century ironwork. They are constructed from dressed granite, granite ashlar, and wrought iron. The gateway is rectangular in shape and features a granite grid stile set between granite ashlar walls. It is accessed by five granite steps leading up from the south.
On the right side, there is an adjoining granite wall that angles back along the churchyard boundary, connecting to a wider gateway that has a square-on-plan cruciform-headed granite monolithic pier on either side. To the left of the stile, the wall extends for a few meters. The walls are topped with chamfered copings, above which are railings featuring a top rail and fleur-de-lys finials on closely spaced bars. Above the main gateway, there is an iron overthrow with a lamp mounting in the center and scrolled bracing on either side. The main gateway has a single iron gate, while the other gateway features double iron gates.
