Description

Trap house, formerly used by the Methodist minister, dates from the mid to late 19th century. It is constructed of roughly coursed killas with dressed granite quoins, jambstones, and lintels. The building features a slate sill to the only window opening and a wooden lintel over the wider doorway. The roof is made of scantle slate with gable ends. The structure has a rectangular plan with two openings on the south-west side: a wide opening for a trap on the left and a stable entrance on the right. It is a single-storey building with one window on the south-west front. The wide doorway on the left has double doors, while the doorway on the right includes a window opening between. The doors are ledged, and there is an original 8-pane hornless upper sash with wooden slats on the lower sash. The interior has not been inspected. This trap house remains unspoiled and is located very close to the Church of Saint Sithney.
