Description

Milestone, probably from the late 19th century. It is made of painted dressed granite and has a triangular-shaped vertical shaft that sits on a rectangular base. Two rectangular sides of the shaft face the road at an angle and rise from pyramidal stops. Each of these sides features incised lettering and Arabic numerals. The left-hand side has the inscription: "HELSTON 2 MILES," while the right-hand side reads: "HAYLE 8 MILES, CAMBORNE 8 MILES."
