Description
This is a milestone dating from the mid-19th century, made of painted dressed granite. It has a triangular shaft that sits on a rectangular base. Two rectangular sides of the shaft face the road at an angle and rise from large pyramid stops. Each of these sides features incised lettering and Arabic numerals. The top of the milestone is shaped like a pyramid. The inscription on the left side reads: "HAYLE 1 MILE PENZANCE 9 LANDS END 29" and the inscription on the right side reads: "CAMBORNE 4 MILES REDRUTH 14 TRURO 17."
