Description
Coldham House is a mid-19th century house that was formerly used for the Methodist Minister. It is constructed of rat trap bonded red brick and is colourwashed, topped with a slate roof. The building has three bays and two storeys.
On the ground floor, there is a central entrance featuring a recessed 20th-century six-panelled door, which is framed by an original doorcase with fielded panels and a cornice. Flanking the entrance are 16-pane architraved flush frame sash windows with cambered brick heads, set above an offset plinth. The first floor has a central three-over-six pane small architraved sash window with a cambered brick head, flanked by two 16-pane sashes that have heads at the boxed eaves.
To the right, the ground floor features a canted bay window with a central six-light moulded mullion and transom window, bordered by pilasters and outer margin glazed windows with stained glass, topped with a hipped head. Above this bay window is a 16-pane sash, and at the gable head, there is Flemish bond brickwork and ornamental bargeboards. At the rear, there are two axial red brick stacks with white brick dressings and a continuous lean-to outshut. The interior has not been inspected.
