Description

This is a milepost located about 100 metres north of Rodds Bridge, dating from around 1820. It is made of cast iron and features a small round-headed design. The milepost is situated on the towpath of the Bude Canal and is inscribed with "1 BUDE". Originally, iron mileposts and smaller quarter mileposts were used to mark the length of the Bude Canal.
