Description
This is a range of farm buildings located about 100 metres southeast of Arrallas Farmhouse, dating from around the mid-19th century, with few later alterations. The buildings are constructed from granite and slatestone rubble, featuring granite dressings, and have slate roofs with ridge tiles and gable ends.
The layout consists of buildings arranged around a courtyard, with a central range at the rear that includes stables on the ground floor and a loft above. There are two-storey wings on both the right and left sides, which contain additional stabling and cart sheds, also with lofts above. Each wing has a single-storey cart shed at the front, which is open-fronted towards the courtyard, and there is a central gateway at the front.
The exterior is two storeys high, with the main range displaying a symmetrical seven-bay front. The ground floor features alternating doors and windows, while the first floor has a central loading door flanked by two 2-light, 6-pane casements on either side, along with loading doors at the outer ends. The left wing is also two-storey and symmetrical, with a five-bay front, similar door and window arrangements, and a central loading door on the first floor. The right wing is two-storey but asymmetrical, with two doors and two windows on the ground floor, and a cart entrance to the right. The first floor has a central loading door, with similar casements to the right and a loading door and casement to the left. The single-storey cart sheds at the front are open-fronted on the courtyard side, each consisting of four bays divided by chamfered granite piers. The central gateway is marked by plain granite piers. An external stone stair leads to the loft on the outer side of the farm buildings on the right. Each wing features a ground floor doorway and a loading door above. The interior has not been inspected.
