Description

Farmbuildings dating from the 17th, 18th, and mid-19th centuries. They are constructed of coursed rubble stone with ashlar dressings, and have pantile roofs with stone slate eaves and ashlar quoins. The buildings form a quadrangular plan around a courtyard, with a single brick stack. The south range is single-storeyed, with a slightly projecting centre featuring a coped gable and a 4-centred arched, chamfered doorway with a plank door. Above the doorway is a small shield. To the left of the doorway are three shuttered stable openings, and to the right a single stable opening. A short wing projects to the west. The east range is single-storeyed with 20th-century double doors in the centre, and to the right a two-storey gable bay with double plank doors, and a pigeoncote opening in the gable. The north range is two-storeyed, with an upper doorway to the left, reached by external steps. To the right are various irregular openings, including two 2-light chamfered mullion windows; the upper window has a missing mullion. The west gable has a first-floor, 4-centred arched, chamfered doorway reached by a flight of external steps. The courtyard contains cartsheds with square columns to the east, and stables with irregular openings to the south. A barn projects from the centre of the north wing, dating from the early 19th century, and featuring central threshing openings with segment-headed doorways and upper windows with flush ashlar surrounds. The roofs of the single-storey ranges are from the 19th century. The north wing retains some 17th-century timbers.
